Bonifay

February 10, 2016 by Cissy Faision

Bonifay

Bonifay is the perfect example of “small town life” before suburbs killed downtown. Being the county seat of Holmes County, all the county offices are located here along with the Courthouse, offering its residents all the city conveniences without the crowds and traffic. Its mild weather lures nature lovers to enjoy our outdoor activities year-round. Water enthusiasts love the area because of all the creeks, rivers, ponds, lakes and the Gulf of Mexico so close. It’s area is a paradise for hunters, too, with plentiful deer, turkey, ducks and small game.

Home to the Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo, held the first full weekend in October it attracts approximately 20,000 people each year. In conjunction with this three-night event, there is a Rodeo Parade downtown Bonifay on Friday and Saturday for all to enjoy. It truly is “rural living at its best”! Just ask one of the many lifelong residents! Use Exit 112 off Interstate-10 to check-out Bonifay. For more information go to http://www.holmescountyonline.com
